First passenger flights today for G-ILDA SM520 in her new "Battle of Britain" livery.
602 (City of Glasgow) Sqn. which was based at RAF Westhampnett (Goodwood) during the Battle of Britain. In 1940 LO-G was flown by Pilot Officer (Pedro) Osgood V Hanbury DSO, DFC & Bar complete with Popeye caricature. He scored 11 victories before he was killed in action in 1943 aged 26.
